Now what do I make with it????

I love Glow- in- the- dark fabric. went to Joanns yesterday and picked up to bunches of 5 fat quarter cuts. It's all halloween themed. I HAD to HAVE it. Now what do I make of it????? all suggestions will be helpful. I don NOT need trick or treat bags. Thanks

Table runner???

Bree123 08-09-2016 01:22 PM

What about a hanging banner for your front door? I've seen a 4' banner done with that fabric in the shape of a skeleton (applique). It was really neat.

One of those Fold 'N' stitch wreaths would be cute. Set it on a table and use it as a night light.

This sounds like a cute idea!

There's a free pattern on All People Quilt website that is done with several different Halloween prints. I'll see if I can find the link for you.

I love using glow in the dark fabric in I Spy children's quilts. It's an extra little surprise when the lights go out at bed time. I think a table runner would be great also.

Bree123 08-09-2016 01:56 PM

What about this 'Day of the Dead' table runner?

I am going to try to send you a Pinterest table runner that is made with Halloween fabric that would look really great I think with glow in the dark fabric. See if this works:

Lets see a picture of it. It may help us with our brain storming. If it's sky related, then you can make a haunted house with that in the background!

Oh how about this one from Moda Bake Shop made table runner size. Spider webs and Halloween fabric just go together, don't you think?

Here's a braided table runner (about 3/4 of the way down) that would look pretty cool with Halloween fabric.

Hmmm, Lynnie, I think I need to go to my local JoAnns and see if I can find some of that fabric. I see a table runner in my future. Don't know whether to thank you or curse you for this post!!!

I was thinking about a pumpkin door banner with lots and lots of glowing eyes and smiles.

lynnie 08-09-2016 05:24 PM

Fabric Loft Vogue Table Runner

It took me a while to find the link to the Vogue II Table Runner. It is a Quilt as you Go Runner. It uses 4 fat quarters. I am making it right now for my guild challenge.

Wow, copycat, I really like that Vogue II table runner! You could use any themed fabric or just do it in colors of your choice and it would still look fabulous. Darn! Another quilt pattern to put on my list but then table runners don't take as long to piece or quilt and make great gifts so I guess I won't complain ... although I guess I already did, sorry!

Come on Lynnie, what pattern did you chose to make?

This Pinterest link has so many cute Halloween ideas! Thanks for sharing. The table runner I was thinking of is pictured on their 30 Free Halloween patterns.

lynnie 08-10-2016 05:32 PM

Copycat, first, I love your kitty, looks like my Russian blue Zoey.
I love the one copy cat suggested. Love the idea of using all the fats in one area, and
I can use a purple or lime green or orange in the light areas. Great choice, and fun and done, quilt as you go.
Just gotta get some base colors for it and I'll make it at next weeks bee.
I'll have my friend Jeanne show us all a picture of it when it's done. Thanks everyone!

Judylee2 08-11-2016 05:05 AM

Hi Lynnie,
How about something for your front door, maybe glow zombies or ghosts or glowing whatever!
Just a thought!

Karen Mc 08-11-2016 03:22 PM

I like the idea of a table runner or a wall hanging. I am sure that whatever you decide will be very nice. Please share what you make.

I used white glow in the dark fabric as the background fabric for several Star Wars quilts -- the recipients will be surprised when they turn out the lights!

quiltingcandy 08-16-2016 06:39 PM

When my DDs were little (they are 35 & 32 now) a friend made them a small quilt that was a Halloween theme for a penny toss game you put it on the floor and toss pennies and the points were determined where the penny landed. It was a panel and it glowed in the dark - we still get it out every year and it still glows in the dark. We love it.
