Oakland, Ca Quilters?

Seeking information on fabric shops & fellow quilters. I'm visiting my daughter &
buying her a little machine! Thanks, Dotty in NYC

I haven't been there in a while but Stone Mountain & Daughter fabrics in Berkley was nice. Unfortunately my favorite Thimble Creek in Concord has closed. I am sure there are others but since I moved my mom to TX I haven't been back up there for several years.

Have you tried Google "quilt shops in Oakland" ?? Amazing the amount of information that Google will display. Have fun ! The weather is great right now in CA.

I beg to disagree. It is 74 degrees, clear skies here in san jose, just down the bay from Oakland. We need some rain!

This really isn't a quilting store. They do have tons of fabric there but it is basically for garments.

Not in Oakland, but in SF...Satin Moon Fabrics is one of my all time favorite stores. http://www.yelp.com/biz/satin-moon-f...-san-francisco There are some quilting fabrics there, but there's also all kinds of other fabrics too. It's not cheap, but the selection is just exquisite. Plus, Clement St. is a great place for Asian food and markets. Be sure to check their hours before you go.
