Last night I dreamed about scant 1/4" seams! I can't go into the JoAnn's without getting something, anything!!!

I feel much better after reading all your replies. I'm not the only crazy quilter. My house is lived in, but quilting comes before cleaning. I do not plan my quilts and then buy fabric. I buy fabric then plan my quilt. Do any of you worry that some day you won't be able to buy fabric?

Well, my DH is retiring in April of the coming year. After that, the budget might be a little more strained than usual. So sometimes I worry that I might have to stay away from quilt shops. And since we'll be moving far from any Joann's , I may not even be able to find the cheaper stuff. Yeah, I guess I DO worry a bit. All the more reason to buy fabric NOW! Right?
At least that's what I keep telling myself. |
Me too.

"Obsessed or do I fit in with the "quilting" crowd?"
With all our comments, not sure anyone gave the basic answer to your question. The answer is, YES! You are obsessed AND you fit right in with the quilting crowd. Hugsssssss and smilesssss |
Yes - me as well!!

My question is do the rest of you quilters do the same thing? I will go into a fabric shop and just purchase fabric because I like it (like a kid in a candy store), with absolutely no quilt / home decor idea or design in mind. I always think, "I will find something to use it in". My fabric will sit there until suddenly something pops into my head. I normally let the fabric inspire me, versus planning something out. Sorry so long.... just wondering if all of this is common. :)

Bev, you should move to the Blue Ridge area. We have wonderful quilt shops, high end and budget, a quilter's paradise.
