i want to try a one block wonder and would like to know if any of these would work....
I think any of them should work. You need to have 6 repeats for the hexagon shape.
should the repeats be in the width or length? or either?
In the length , I think! And that last one is beautiful, and I think it would really work well. Of course, I havneT done one yet, so only trying to remember things I have read.
Here is one of the links to CuteBuns tutorials on OBW. She made it so easy. I've got to get around to finish mine.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-35685-1.htm BTW I like #1 |
I would think all of them would work. I have not done one so what do I know! I do love your fabric.
#2 or #3
The background stripe in #1 might give an unwanted effect to the overall. I believe this design needs some solid background and not new pattern in the background. |
I agree with Holice :D the stripes can be very difficult to work with too
I really like the contrast of number 3 :D:D:D |
I think #2 or #3 would be great, according to the book you should avoid rows/stripes/directional etc fabric.
Any of them would work. Love all those fabrics. I love florals.
Never made the OBW, but really love #3 fabric!
Haven't tried this yet, just wanted to say i love the fabrics.

thanks everyone. i haven't purchased the fabric yet. was looking online at hancocks to see what they have on sale this weekend.
I think #1 would look great with the lines. They would add to the effect.
me too and want to get some to prove it can look great.
They all look good, but I think I prefer the first one.
