Ok, I know you have the answer, but I'm adding!!! You'll have plenty of fabric for a lap size! Remember, you can add borders! (No, there isn't a 4 slice OBW ... only 6 or 8... you have a good amount with your 6 yards for a 6 slicer!) I do the 8 slice octagons ... I like them a lot ... I've only made one hexagon, but it was gorgeous too! YOur fabric will be awesome ... lots of black, but a little border in one of the colors in the fabric will really make it perfect! I'm attaching my "Christmas" quilt ... yes, it's blue, but it was originally poinsettas, and the backing is silver and white and it makes it work for me. Good luck. Post pics when you are done!!!

Help. What's OBW?

A OBW is a One Block Wonder. It is made using one fabric, usually having a 24" repeat, lined up and layered so that each of the 6 or 8 layers of fabric is exactly the same. Cut into strips, then triangles for hexagon or octagon blocks.

I love Asian prints for WOB or stack-n-whack kind of things. They are usually 24" repeats which will easily make a large bed quilt. If you get two sets of repeats, you will want to offset the second cut a bit to get some different blocks instead of repeats.

The fabric is really beautiful.
