Have you seen or know anyone who has this vanishing design wall? Looks great! I ask my husband if he would make me one, and he answered you can buy it cheaper than I can make it! No surprise to that answer, he does for others and nothing for me in 31 years.

I hve seen them in several ads. Just use google.com or bing.com. They look awesome.
|
How expensive are they? They are awesome.
|
http://www.vanishingdesignwall.com is their site
They start at c.$140, if a furniture-finish c.$170 plus shipping range c.$20-30. They're located in Utah and it doesn't look like she travels. |
That is very nice, but I would need a cheaper way to make it.

Cool idea!

Why couldn't you just staple a flannel backed tablecloth to a window shade roller and mount that to the wall with or without a valence to hide it? Sounds pretty easy and would be a whole lot less money.

You and I think alike ghostrider. I was thinking the same thing.

I built a shelf/box very similar to the one shown for vertical blinds. I scallopped the front board. It is 72". Now I just need to find the retractable rod for inside. Thanks for the idea.

All my growing up I heard, I can make that cheaper. Well, most items were never made or were made cheaper and looked it. Unless DH or I can make the item a better quality for the cost I will buy the original and have it to use instead of waiting for the just as good version to be made. Just my thoughts.
