Oh yes, all the time. I don't call myself stitchnripper for nothing!!
|
Me too my morter-in-law says I won't notice the difference once it's washed. I WILL KNOW!!
|
Count me in the group who picks out imperfect stitches. If I am not happy with the stitching now, I won't be happy with it later. A good seamstress will use a seam ripper.
|
I would get really cross with myself for being lazy if I didn't unpick the rogue stitches.
|
Sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do and just pick out a few of the bad ones!

I "unsew" from time to time. My hands and wrists don't permit me to use a hoop so I've developed my own style. Since I sew for enjoyment and relaxation, I determine what is acceptable. :-) I am not perfect and refuse to allow perfectionism overtake my hobby.
Sew on! |
Oh, do feel normal. I unquilt when necessary too. I know that when you are finished quilting and quilt is washed you will never be able to find your errors...but I would know they are there. Anyway, the more you hand quilt, the better you get. So unquilt and get more practice:<)
|
I think you are very normal !!! I don't handquilt, but I know I would if I did. I do plan to handquilt a small project someday.
I have done a lot of needlepoint and cross stitch over the years, and if I found a mistake, out went the row and surrounding areas, and I would do it over. I know I would do that with handquilting. No wonder it took me several years to finish two (18x24) needlepoint projects of "Pinkie" by Thomas Lawrence, and "Blue Boy" by Thomas Gainsbourgh. I have them hanging on the wall by our staircase. |
I also dabble in cross stitch, knitting, and punch needle....same story if I note an error...I, as many, do the correction to please myself!

Yep...do it all the time. What I can't figure out is how do some of the master quilters get 12 stitches per inch? I've practiced for 10 years and I'm still at 6-8 stitches per inch and I really, really try to turn my needle better but......
Any good tutorial suggestions? |
