Off to quilt camp

Hi,

I am off to quilt camp tomorrow, but this is a day camp and I will return home tomorrow evening sometime to sleep in my own bed etc! It's at the community center about 3 mile out of town and runs tomorrow thru Sunday. I love the convenience of coming home nightly, can change projects, pick up missed supplies, etc. and sleep good!

I am finishing up my Rail Fence Diamond quilt that was a video from Missouri Quilt Co. and also making a couple Stand N Stow bags. Always fun to see what everyone is doing, great ideas always.

Be a fun week end!

I like the sleep in your own bed retreats...I never sleep well another place, especially the first night.

Have fun!

I went to one with my two sisters last year. We had a fantastic time, saw so many neat ideas and projects, ate wonderful fattening food and promised to do it again this year. Unfortunately, weather and other commitments did not allow that to happen.

Have a great time. Do not push yourself to finish a project instead of joining in on demos and discussions. That was the mistake I made last year and afterwards, altho I was happy with what I had accomplished, I regretted not spending time visiting and learning and being inspired by others.

I have a day retreat every other month about 2 miles from my house. I get to have fun in the day time but go out to eat with my husband then home to sleep in my own bed. WOW!! Thats the best of both worlds. We have a group of about 12-14 girls but not all make every on. Some knit, crochet, as well as quilt. Hugs

That's why I usually stay up until about 2:00 a.m. sewing. LOL

Our guild usually books a room at one of the public libraries in our area (there are 4, so we rotate them) for a Saturday sewing day once every month or two. There may be a particular project to work on (charity quilts, quilts of valor) or it may be a bring your own project day. We have had a couple local instructors who speak at our Tuesday night guild meeting, then have a class the following Saturday. The room is free, and they have tables and chairs. We have to set up and put away, but they allow us to bring snacks and drinks.

Have fun at your retreat.
