Duh...I hadn't thought about looking for a hem. I'll go check.

No hem on top or bottom, but I'm assuming that could of been cut off.

I guess I'm going to have to do a thread count.

not as hard as it sounds. cut 1/2 inch strip & start pulling off threads. (double it for 1 inch count)

How wide is the fabric? If its 42-44 inches, it's most likely yard goods.

I remember why I put this box in the closet...it smelled like smoke! They're in the washing machine right now, I'll check as soon as they dry. :P

If you don't hand quilt, just plan on using it.

Only measured one piece, and the measurements were 84 x 108.

That sounds like a sheet size. Like the others said if you're going to hand quilt it, it might be difficult because of the tighter weave. Batiks are often the same density as sheets, and they are more difficult to hand quilt through. If you are machine quilting, then there will be no problem.

Darn, must be a sheet. I made a sample block and the holes from stitches are bigger than they should be.

Darn, darn, darn

I'm not an expert on sewing machine needles but maybe a smaller, sharper needle would help?
