This is such a great creative group, so I thought you may have the answer(s) to this question: a friend of mine has her grandmother's lace wedding dress overlay and a red velveteen vest that was her dad's. She has four sibs and would like to make something for each of them that would include these old fabrics. She does not know what either of them is made out of. Thanks everyone! Have a happy holiday season!!! :D :-) :D

With Valentine's day right around the corner I would be tempted to make a heart out of the red velveteen and cover it with the lace. You could either make it into a small wallhanging or a nice little table topper. If you could embrodier something like "Love thru the years" or with love to you or something to tie the past to the sibs that would be cool. Just thinking out loud.

Thanks,

My first thought was a throw pillow with the heart and lace on it like candlequilter suggested. That would be so cool considering the origin of the fabrics! jan

I immediately thought of covering small frames with the velvet and them embellish with the last.. then put a " wedding pic" or a fav pic of parents in each of the frames.

Thanks everyone, I am passing your ideas onto my friend. She is afraid to log onto the Board as she is afraid she may become addicted to it! LOL
