How surprised and happy one can be, good for you.

trolleystation 03-28-2011 05:14 AM

Looks like everything is in great shape and now it's time to get quilting.

OmaForFour 03-28-2011 05:21 AM

I moved in 1966 and am still missing a box of good knives. Guess they are gone forever since I have moved once more since then and they still didn't show up.

PolkaBabe 03-28-2011 05:46 AM

I moved here 8 years ago & finnaly got to the fabric in the closet from the move. Still have boxes in all the bedrooms & keep finding things. What an eye opener.

Oh, must be some material that I got in the garage sale boxes. I then pulled another piece out, and the same thing. What a wonderful finding!! Serendipity for sure.

Shirlrh 03-28-2011 06:15 AM

Wow! Just like Christmas!!

marycontrary 03-28-2011 06:17 AM

Oh boy, can I relate! All my stuff was packed up in late 07 to "stage" the house. Moved in early 08, but didn't finish the basement sewing room til spring of 10. I just stuffed things into my fabric cabinets to quickly unload the boxes. In addition, I had a lot of fabric in baskets and plastic containers. Have yet to reorganize everything. And then we have the little problem of where to store the new stuff I bought. The other day I ran across a UFO I had completely forgotten about. Still haven't found my pretty little Gingher pewter embroidery scissors. I am hopelessly ill and loving it!

Jojesek 03-28-2011 07:37 AM

I love when stuff like that happens. It's like Christmas but better because it's already paid for! :-D

BrendaB 03-28-2011 08:22 AM

After our last move 3 years ago, I can't find my "special" things, like gifts from very special people in my life that can't be replaced. Maybe this spring and summer they will surface. You give me hope. :-)

carol43 03-28-2011 08:23 AM

Awww...glad you have them back with you.

Gladys 03-28-2011 08:25 AM

You are one lucky Mama. It's like Christmas isn't it when you find something like that.

IBQUILTIN 03-28-2011 09:06 AM

Isn't that a wonderful feeling? Almost like a trip to the Quilt Shop. I am still finding things since our move a year ago. If anyone sees those little black snips of mine, please hang onto them for me, I miss them

kwilter 03-28-2011 09:45 AM

Packed up when we tried to sell the house (fail) and still have much missing fabric.....sigh!

good for you...have a ball!!!!!! :-P

mcar 03-28-2011 02:08 PM

funny you mention this topic. My husband went into the garage attic and brought down some boxes left there 27 years ago after our move to this house. Well, there was my sewing machine cover made by a friend, my green singer box of feet...those really looked old. I was unaware that they were on the missing list!

Deborah12687 03-28-2011 02:19 PM

Well you need to pet your newly lost but found fabric. Have fun quilting with it!

MargeD 03-28-2011 02:30 PM

I definitely know how happy you must feel. We recently downsized from a three-bedroom home to a two-bedroom apartment (talk about having to purge and condense fabric). It was especially hard since I got all my sister's fabric when she died a few months before, so it was emotional on two counts. Now that I'm finally getting somewhat organized, I go to look for a fabric I knew I had and then remember that I got rid of it. Fortunately, my girl friend took several totes off my hands, so I think I can talk her into giving me some of it back. Guard that fabric and then enjoy what you can do with it. MargeD

Barnsey 03-28-2011 03:35 PM

nice stash

Mariposa 03-28-2011 03:38 PM

Yay! Always fun to find fabrics and things we forgot about! I also recognize some of those in the stack! :)

SandraG 03-28-2011 03:41 PM

A little off subject, but last night after watching "Hoarders", I decided I needed to get rid of something in my house so I saw a bag in the back of my sewing room. I got it out and it was some clothes I bought last year and then couldn't remember where I put them. I wore them to work today.

PattyS 03-28-2011 04:08 PM

My daughter and sister moved a lot of my sewing stuff to the spare bedroom when I got longarm. I am still finding things I need or forgot I had. One of these days I have to clean that room and the other 7 rooms of this house. Right now I have the quilting bug.
Congratulations on finding your box of fabric. It is like Christmas!

nwm50 03-28-2011 04:36 PM

oh happy days! Now you have different colors to play with from the usual ones....

sassey 03-28-2011 04:49 PM

ging10ging 03-28-2011 05:20 PM

It's so nice when we find something it means more to you. Happy Quilting beautiful colors.

mountain deb 03-28-2011 05:36 PM

I do not want to think about packing my stash, NO WAY. But I am hoping to put it up for sale in the nest year or two (the house that is).

EdieClay 03-28-2011 05:41 PM

What a wonderful surprise ... enjoy those beautiful fabrics.

A happy surprise! I love that blue piece.

thebossbab 03-28-2011 07:44 PM

This is why I like this QB so much because you are all so much fun to read, laugh, be happy and be sad with!!!

justflyingin 03-28-2011 09:05 PM

At the price of fabric, that was at least a find of a couple hundred dollars, right?

Congrats!
