I did clean in the bobbin area, and there was a lot of fuzz, but that didn't seem to change anything. I've blown in any area I could and still. Whatever is wrong seems really really wrong.... the free wheel is very very hard to turn, and really just feels tight and 'stuck'... Now I've got her in the bag and I'm heading up there first thing in the morning. :o(

Moral of the story is stay away from cheap thread. Hope it's an easy fix.

I know exactly how you feel. My brother messed up on me as I was stitching the binding down with a decorative stitch. It didn't lock down, but was skipping stitches and then just a straight line. The only other machine I had was my grandmother's Universal, and it doesn't do decorative stitches. I was soooo depressed, you would have thought someone "real" died. I went out a few days later and bought a Janome 8050 because I was too impatient and sad to get the Brother fixed. Of course, after I bought the Janome, I did fix the Brother. I do feel your pain though. Have you tried to clean the bobbin case and everything out? My mother's Janome locked up, and when she took it to be repaired, it was just a piece of lint under the bobbin case. I wish you lots of luck.

I am sorry to hear you are going through all that. It sucks to be without a machine, but you know what this is the perfect time to do hand work. It is so much fun and relaxing. Tomorrow i am going to start a side project of 1930s grandmother's flower garden :)

If your machine has the bobbin winder that has to be engaged to wind, make sure you disengaged it! I thought for sure my machine was ruined when it was locked up. Someone where posted to check the bobbin winder and that was my problem.

I hope your "baby" gets well soon.

You may want ot check the bobbin winder on your machine. Mine did this and the fly wheel would not turn so I thought it was thread in the tension disks. Well come to find out that after I wound the bobbin, I forgot to move the winder back in place. And also when you thread the machine make sure your presser foot is up so the thread goes inbetween the tension disks like it is supposed to. Good luck, Huggies, Fay
