Can anyone suggest a really good, simple book, website or tutorial for learning One Block Wonder?
I'm talking OBW for dummies 101 or something along those lines. Thanks, Lori |
Use the one on here from Cutebuns. Check under Search.

The One Block Wonder book by Maxine Rosenthal. It doesn't get any better than that. After you get the book, the tute will give extra pointers. But get the book first.

I am hoping someone don't need their book anymore and list it here. I can't afford it right now. Doctor bill is coming up in April. :x But I do love the way they look.

I agree, get the OBW book by Maxine Rosenthal. Read it all the way thru. She gives tips on fabric choice, lining the fabric up cutting and assembly. Then look at the step by step tutorial on this site. Once I got past my fear of cutting into the yardage, I was surprised at how easy it was.

I got the second book in the series: One Block Wonders Encore, I thought it was a complete guide for making the hexagons and some cubes. And I generally do need the "for dummies" instructions.

I"ve done the four patch posies from a tutorial on here. To me, it's a baby steps, beginner's version of OBW. I learned how to find the repeat, match the fabric, cut and put together the block, but just with squares instead of more challenging shapes.
It's an option if you are just getting your feet wet. Here's one I did with some fabric I had no other plans for... http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...01604069tdPQCC |
