Yes, I have this book. Directional prints ALWAYS makes quilting take twice the time. Yes, you could use the Large dots in both the front and back of the additional border if you need it to reach a certain quilt size.

I'm in the add black bauble camp. That fabric just sets your quilt off so nicely! Cute project, I hope you are having fun with it :)

Fabric choice decisions make for a longer time to complete; I was using scraps and ran out of a certain fabric. Longer time.
