Online Fabric

I want some new fabric. Where are your best places to order quality quilting fabric? My LQS are limited in their inventory online.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I like Missouri Star and Connecting threads. If you want novelty fabric, you can find pretty much anything on Elkabeesfabricparadise.com

BonnieJP 04-27-2020 08:36 AM

I have been fabric I ordered from Missouri Star Quilts; Quilted Twins; Jordan Fabrics; Thousands of Bolts and One Nut; and Thread Bear Fabrics.

Trixie77484 04-27-2020 08:36 AM

Hancocks of Padukah, they also sell on ebay, I have bought from their ebay store plenty, good pricing and free shipping.

SharonPye 04-27-2020 08:40 AM

I like Missouri Star and Jordan Fabrics. Both have good quality and nice people!

I go to equilter first and Fields, a small Michigan chain second.

I'm noticing less selection and more out of stock things. I think a lot of us have been ordering a lot of fabric!

Notwendy 04-27-2020 09:20 AM

I've used many of the places others have listed (and had no complaints at all).

You should also try Quilt in a Day (Eleanor Burns) as theyhave a wide selection and great customer service. Marshall's Dry Goods is also a fave.

SusieQOH 04-27-2020 10:01 AM

My 2 favs are Fat Quarter Shop and Missouri Star.
But my absolute fav is Etsy. I get the best fabrics there and good prices.

my-ty 04-27-2020 10:22 AM

I have been shopping online at my LQS because when the dust settles, I want them to still be in business.

Three Dog Night 04-27-2020 10:59 AM

I like to use Connecting Threads and Missouri Star Quilt Company.

Kitsie 04-27-2020 11:55 AM

l like Fabric.com through Amazon. Don't have to buy anything really special but can always find what I need there.

pocoellie 04-27-2020 01:15 PM

There's also Marshall's Dry Goods.

juliasb 04-27-2020 02:56 PM

There are so many online fabric shops. I love Paducah and it is the best in my opinion. I also use fabric.com a great deal. Then I tried Marshall's Dry Goods and that feels like a good fit right now. Best of luck to you.

Quiltah Mama 04-27-2020 04:30 PM

I just placed an order with Hancocks of Paducah, loving their 9 yard mini bolts of Kona solids, limited selection of the 9 yard bolts, but basic coordinating colors. I have previously ordered from them, and have always been happy with my purchase, they also have the option of Amazon pay, so if you have an Amazon account, upon check out, if you choose that it will get charged through your Amazon payment.

Connecting threads is a great option too. I often purchase fabric from Etsy too, I find Etsy sellers are eager for good reviews so the customer service for me has been great, and fast shipping.

I am finding my two orders from Hancocks have been delayed recently due to Covid19, for example, I placed my order 4/20, and today had to contact them about something, and my order is not projected to ship until the end of this week https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...s/confused.png So if your in a hurry for a particular fabric right now to finish a project, most places, including Hancocks, has info on their websites about the delays on shipping orders. If I were in need of a particular fabric during this time, I would look on Etsy as their shipping is much faster due to reviews, which they rely on for future sales, and they are usually a person selling from their home or a small location, and they're not down staffed currently. I also find the sellers are very willing to sell even less then a yard at a time if you were in need of a smaller piece.

Thank you to every suggestion...
Now I can peruse and get more fabric...

SueZQ from MN 04-28-2020 10:57 PM

We live in a small town with limited sources of quality fabric so I have been buying through catalogs and online for 25 years and my preferences have changed over time. Like others, I have ordered from eQuilter, Nancy's Notions, Keepsake Quilting, Shabby Fabrics, Connecting Threads, and Jordan Fabrics and been satisfied for many years. Some of the less familiar sites that I really like are:

Fantastictreasures4u has fast shipping, is wonderful to work with and has a wide range of fabrics. She is now offering 1/2 yd. cuts on some selected fabrics with free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/str/fantastictr...p2047675.l2563
Claudia's Sewing House has super sales, great prices on quality fabric and excellent service. https://www.ebay.com/str/Claudias-Se...622015&_sop=15
Crafty Hollow Quilts prices all fabric by the 1/2 yd. She is going out of business, so some quantities are limited but she still has a lot of beautiful fabric at great prices, and she gives wonderful service.
https://www.etsy.com/shop/CraftyHoll...s&section_id=1
Jambeariescarries quality products, has great sales https://www.etsy.com/shop/Jambearies?page=32
ShirBrew She offers $2 shipping when you order 2 or more items and carries a huge inventory of beautiful fabrics.
https://www.ebay.com/sme/shirbrew/so...ew&_udlo&_udhi
Quilted Christmas carries nothing but the Christmas lines of major manufacturers. https://www.quiltedchristmas.com/Fabrics_c_11.html
I have also ordered from Hancock's of Paducah, but sometimes their photos don't show colors accurately. Also, they have different prices on their ebay and their store sites, so check both places before you order to compare prices and shipping cost differences.

Ditto on your comments! I placed my first Etsy order because the google search brought me to the seller. Prompt service and a sweet handmade card thanking me for supporting her small business. I tried our 2 local quilt shops first.

I also like Whittlesfabrics.com

they carry quilt shop quality closeouts. Beautiful fabric and great prices and sales.

Austinite 04-29-2020 07:38 AM

Etsy: Cali Quilt Co, Sew Crazy Austin, Blue Pacific Fabrics, Feline Drive, Bayside Fabrics, all of these are mom n pop, I've ordered from each several times, especially CaliQuiltCo and SewCrazyAustin.

friendly local quilt shops that sell B&M, online, & curbside: Honey Bee Quilt, Cotton Cupboard are my favorites, Wimberley Stitch Studio, Fabric Frenzy, and A Quilter's Folly are also great. I also highly recommend Blue Bar Quilts & The Electric Needle in Madison WI, they are also B&M, online, & curbside.

Jordan 04-29-2020 08:58 AM

I really like Missouri Star Quilt Co. or Jordan Fabrics. They both have a really nice selection and variety of fabrics

IrishgalfromNJ 05-05-2020 05:29 AM

FYI. Connecting Threads shipping is super slow. I ordered four yards of fabric in April 11th and it still has not arrived. Tracking says it may be delivered today but was not definite. (sigh).

IrishgalfromNJ 05-05-2020 11:43 AM

Good news, Thousands of Bolts shipping is very fast. Ordered 2 yards April 29th and received on May 4th.

Quiltah Mama 05-05-2020 04:11 PM

I too placed an order on 4/20/20 and have yet to receive the order. I called them today with my order # to inquire where I was in the lineup, they were just shipping the 4/18 orders, so was told mine should ship the end of this week. I was amazed actually, I mean, I am reading about how busy LQS's are busier then ever with their shipping and selling out of elastic the same day it comes in, and about the sewing machines shortages, and I guess I just didn't really realize how busy these fabric businesses really are. I am really happy for them considering the unemployment numbers and the sad stories on the news of businesses closing. Who would have ever believed it would take this long to receive our fabric orders........ https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/cool.png

Snooze2978 05-06-2020 04:45 AM

Quilted Twins, Marshall Dry Goods and 1000 bolts are the places I head to these days. I find Connecting Threads fabrics to fray too much these days and their prices have surely risen alot since I started ordering from them. Good thing with CT is if they make a mistake all you have to do is call them, tell them what they goofed up on and they will send again. No questions asked and you get to keep the fabric they made a mistake on. I also found out that you need to measure every piece of fabric they send you as they tend to make a mistake in the amount from time to time too. I'm sure it wasn't meant to be and since they correct their mistake they are still on my list of places to check for fabrics.

riverandwoods 05-06-2020 04:43 PM

Just keep in mind that it may take a while to get your order. I placed an order on April 23 with one online seller and they haven’t even shipped it yet...combination between volume of orders and staffing.

amyjo 05-06-2020 07:56 PM

Keepsake is a favorite of mine besides MSQC and Connecting Threads. I’ve also ordered from Hancocks and a company in Amish country. I have waited for fabrics during this virus thing but when you have tracking it’s easy to see where it is

aashley333 05-07-2020 02:30 AM

My go to site is fabric.com. Will not be ordering from JoAnns. Almost ran out of thread, so I ordered large variety. Of course, order arrived incomplete. Website lists customer service number to call. The recording says to email. That was a week ago. All I have received is a form letter stating that they received the email.
