Can you all give me your opinion about online shopping...the best website to shop on...and if the quality of fabric is good. I've seen connectingthreads and I will be trying them out. Great prices too.

I would also like to know a good place to get Jo Morton fabrics ONLINE.

amma 07-15-2010 10:45 AM

I really like Fabric Depot, you can go to their site and sign up for online sale notifications. :D:D:D

Check out the sites shipping prices before shopping... they can be a deal breaker right out of the gate for me

im addicted to ebay lol
run a search on specifics. stick with sellers with great records and feedback :D

If you pick name-brand fabrics at an on-line, it should always be as good as at your LQS. We have an on-line store that is an extension of our brick-and-mortar store. Both the on-line store and the brick-and-mortar store sell the same fabric off the same bolts.

Just watch your shipping costs, they can kill you. I live in a subdivision that is in the country just a mile or so out of town. There are retail businesses well within a mile of me, but UPS adds an dditional cost for shipping because it is determined by them to be a rural area. I buy from Keepsake and have purchased from Connecting Threads. The last order from CT was dissappointing to me because the quality was not very good. Not terrible but not what I expected.

I like Connecting Threads for their kits. Keepsake Quilting is good too, but can be costly. My all time favorite is Fabric.com. They have free shipping on orders over $35, which is easy to achieve. Sign up for their e-mail list. The orders come usually within a week. Grandmasatticquilting.com is another good one. She has all qualities of fabric. Clotilde.com has fabric and patterns. I found something I couldn't find anywhere else at abbimays.com. There are so many I could go on and on.

grann of 6 07-15-2010 11:18 AM

Oh! As for the Jo Morton fabric....just google Jo Morton fabric and you should be able to find something.

Joeysnana 07-15-2010 11:56 AM

On fabric.com today you get 10% off an order of $40 plus free shipping because the order is over $35.

Joeysnana 07-15-2010 11:58 AM

The coupon code for fabric.com is corner10.

I like fabricshack.com and stitch-n-frame.net

I love Thousands of Bolts. I have never had a dissappointment in quality. Shipping is very fast ,prices are great

sandybeach 07-15-2010 12:33 PM

I shop all over the place and have not had any trouble. If I know what I am looking for I go to http://www.quiltshops.com/, click on Item Search, type in what I am looking for (and usually add SALE to the description), then when I find what I want, I order.

Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!
Sounds like you already go a bunch of places to try!!!

sidmona 07-15-2010 02:40 PM

I also love thousandsofbolts.com - they even have a color matcher option on their site. I've used it and I haven't been disappointed.

littlehud 07-15-2010 08:59 PM

Connecting Threads is my choice too. I love that place.

ckcowl 07-16-2010 04:52 AM

90% of my online purchases come from fabrics.com in marrieta georgia. i have been shopping with them for 10 years. i also frequent the cotton patch in east tawas, michigan (lots of bom's and variety)there are a few others that on occassion i shop with but those are the 2 that gets the bulk of my business...I LOVE CONNECTING THREADS, and buy thread from them! oh, and CLOTILDE's for notions and special items

coolcat 07-16-2010 11:58 AM

Thank you for all the online places to shop. I like fabric.com. They offer a deal a day that features a special price on a deal that lasts 24 hours. I have been pleased with everything I have purchased.

One of my favorites is Honey Fork Fabrics. Also Thousands of Bolts, Some Art Fabric.

Hello, I haven't shopped online yet and wonder has anyone used Whittles fabrics was it good?

sidmona 07-18-2010 07:33 AM

I've used Whittles and they have great fabric. They have great customer service as well.

ssgramma 07-18-2010 07:36 AM

I live near Whittles and the ladies there are absolutely WONDERFUL! Anytime I have been in there they are busy cutting for orders and leave you alone until/unless you want help.

There prices are so good I rarely shop anywhere else.

grann of 6 07-18-2010 07:43 AM

Just checked out the Whittles website. Looks great! Guess I have another place to shop. So much fabric, so little time. It's a good thing I live alone; well except for two big dogs. And they don't care how much fabric I bring in.

CarrieAnne 07-18-2010 07:51 AM

I just wanted to Welcome you!

I think most of my mail order stuff has come from fabric.com and hancock's of paducah. I only buy if it's on sale and keep in mind hancock's prices are for a half yard (but some are discounted if you buy more than a yard). Fabric.com usually has a coupon or two out there-you can find them by googling.

Luv Quilts and Cats 07-18-2010 10:13 AM

Connecting Threads has great fabric. You might want to check out Keepsake Quilting at keepsakequilting.com.

ladydi64 07-18-2010 10:41 AM

I use thousandsofbolts.com and have never been disappointed in the material their prices are great and if you get on their email list you will be notified about sales. They just had a sale on wide backing material cheaper than what I could pick up at my LQS.

Internet loaded with fabric stores. I particularly like the ones with a display board where you can paste up samples to match or try a pattern or see how the fabric design/colors work together.

ogrammyo 07-18-2010 11:25 AM

Have always had good luck with Connecting
Threads. They go out of their way to help you.
