oooooohhhh!!!!!! the sale!!!!
On super bowl Sunday my fav quilt shop has their annual super bowl sale. This is the first year I went and OMG!!!!!! it was amazing all the "clearence" fabric was 50% off there were probably well over 500 bolts of fabric well maybe not that many. But could have been. This included batiks that I love. And there were other things on sale but didn't really look. Iended up spending probably around $80 but got 16 one yard cuts and two of them were a bit over a yard. End of the bolt style. Oh man was it awesome and met a few supper nice ladies. We were all buying batiks and would just hand a bolt to the lady and then she would cut the bolt up into how ever many different size.pieces we wanted then she would markg on the slips how much and the price. It was really a heart warming thing. I am tearing Iup just thinking how nice these 5 ladies I met were. They made sure there was at least a yard of the fabric left over for each of us that liked it. Did meet one lady who I had asked if I could have a yard of this one fabric when she had the bolt cut and she was kinda rude and said no. And she got like all 8 yards that were there. She didn't have anything planned for it either. It was kinda mean. But I did get some fab fabric there. Wish the sale was more than once a year. Will post pics of what I got later. But it was awesome experience. And everyone who was there was the nicest for the most part. I can't wait for next year. Gives me a good reason to look forward to the super bowl. Hehe. Quilters are Deffinatly the nicest most shareing people ever.

My LQS also had a Super Bowl Sale. They had a room that was cash & carry meaning it was one price for the entire bolt. Prices were $5 to $30. Some were bargains some were not. They also had a 25 percent off the entire store. I was shocked when the total came to $180.

quilters station in the lees summit mo i plan on saving more pennies for next year.

What a good way to enjoy the Super Bowl without a TV
|
Sure beats watching football ;)

My favorite LQS also had a Super Bowl sale that went from Friday until Sunday. Great prices and they even provided a catered meal for free!
|
Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Congratulations on your stash building adventure.
|
the LQS here had books 40% off, thread buy 3 get one free and on more than 3 you were in 25% off on all land( this included aurifil and king tut well actually they have the entire Superior Thread line which is why i go there ) and buy 3 yards of regular priced fabric and fourth is free and from there on you are in 25% off land. and there was a huge section of sale fabric that was all 40% off..........this shop only carries top brands of fabric so it was an awsome sale.

You did really great. Oh those were the days when I could go fabric shopping and spend a hundred dollars on what I wanted, not what I needed. It was a lot more fun!
|

Mine did the same thing. FQ's were $1.75 or 30 for $30.00. I got them and also 4 end of bolts. I spent $125.00 and felt bad but I want to start making some lap quilts for the nursing home where my husband was and this will be great. Now I have to get busy but I"m really looking forward to doing them, I even got Stonehenge Flannel and I'm going to make Rag Quilts.

My shop was Pin Wheels & Posies in Dickinson, Tx. They are great there, it's my happy place even when I don't buy anything.
|
Man that sounds like fun. Hey I only watch the super bowl for the commercials, and this year I watched it from my sewing machine.

sahm4605,
Also one of my favorite shops. I didn't get to go to the Super Bowl sale this year. Sob, sob. I hope you bought lots of beautiful fabric since I couldn't. They do have great sales. |
