Oop???

I was looking at some fabric on Ebay and I came across some that had OOP at the beginning or end of the title. Can someone tell me what this stands for and is it good to buy fabric with this in the title?

Thanks,
Mary/stitchengramie

Out of print or out of production. It means that it is not being made anymore so be sure you can get as much as you need because finding more may be difficult.

OOP means "out of print". Some sellers will take this to mean that the fabric is worth a large sum of money. It may be a fabric that is hard to find but highly sought after. Just for giggles, do an eBay search for Heather Ross fabrics. These are long OOP and some sell for $50/yard or even $10+/FQ.

There should be no reason not to use OOP fabrics unless the cost is prohibitive.

I see it with books and other things. I thought it was just to grab your attention !!! Never used it when I was selling fabric on eBay. OOPS!!! :)

Or...it could be out of print because it was a total bomb and didn't sell at all! LOL You can always check the fabric search engines to see if something is really so hard to find that it would justify higher than average asking prices.
