Oops! iron-on interfacing
 

I just posted a question about iron-on interfacing [see post #2] and mentioned that I was going to post some pictures of my miniature quilts, not realizing that I needed to attach them to the message. So I'm attaching one to this message.

I'm a brand new member and this will be the third time I've typed my question about iron-on interfacing. Hopefully this time it will make it to the board! :)

I have iron-on interfacing that I want to use as 60-count (60 stitches to the inch) cross stitch fabric but I need to remove the "stuff". Do you think if I just keep applying the iron-on to scraps of fabric, eventually it would all come off? Or is there a better way?

And the reason this is a reply to my own post is because this particular post with the picture was my second message after which I found out my first message with the actual question never posted. When I discovered that, I went in to edit this picture post and add a more informative post to it and was told it was to late to edit it (it had been more than 20 minutes) so hence, this reply. Any and all thoughts will be very much appreciated.

So, what you want to do is iron scraps of fabric on, then pull them (and hopefully the "stuff" with it) off?

I'm curious, why do you want to use iron-on interfacing? Wouldn't it just be easier to purchase cross-stitch fabric?

I've used a few iron-on interfacings in my day, and the only thing I see happening if I tried this is the interfacing would shred and rip. Maybe I used a different kind of interfacing, because I don't see how it could possibly hold up to that kind of treatment.

I'm not quite following your question but this sounds like a lot of extra work for your project. Can you purchase the cross stitch fabric you want?

why not purchase non iron on interfacing in the first place? Not sure I understand why you are using the iron on interfacing and trying to remove the sticky glue??? If you are trying to cross stitch through interfacing, isn't that a bit difficult? If you need a stable piece when your cross stitch is completed, why not, then iron it to a piece of interfacing?
