I just discovered I'd made a really big goof on 13 log cabin blocks I'm working on. To fix meant a whole lot of ripping, so I decided to
"make lemonade" instead. I will now have 2 star shaped log cabin place mats. Tomorrow I'll begin again on the blocks for my quilt top. |
good use or if you are going to make anther quilt out of the same fabs make pillows to match.

I am with you, cut them up, rearrange and call it original!! Have done it many times and the ladies in the quild think I am a maverick!! Just make lemonade.

That's the attitude. Make lemonade out of lemons.

Lemonade is good :-) great way to take a time out. Penny

The grass is always greener over the septic tank! Just go with it....

I probably would have put them in a pile and never touched them again. So glad you made something else out of them. Good thinking!

LOL what a great idea!! there are no mistakes in quilting, just opportunities!
|
I too would have designed a pattern to use them in. I don't have a problem throwing out small scraps, but, nothing I can use for something. Good for you.

You go girl. Good thinking

hmmm, wonder what kind of blocks they could have been...LOL
I hope you post what you make with them. I am making another DLCS, and I made one of the outer blocks, thought it looked okay with the fabrics I used, then started making the other 17 blocks. After I added one of the fabrics (to all 17 blocks) I decided it really didn't look good and decided to rip that log off all 17 blocks. That meant taking several rounds off the 1st block too, but in this case I thought it was worth the effort. Other times I just put the blocks aside or donate them to the guild's car quilt. |
I love lemonade!
