I just discovered I'd made a really big goof on 13 log cabin blocks I'm working on. To fix meant a whole lot of ripping, so I decided to
"make lemonade" instead. I will now have 2 star shaped log cabin place mats. Tomorrow I'll begin again on the blocks for my quilt top.

good use or if you are going to make anther quilt out of the same fabs make pillows to match.

I too would have designed a pattern to use them in. I don't have a problem throwing out small scraps, but, nothing I can use for something. Good for you.

I am making another DLCS, and I made one of the outer blocks, thought it looked okay with the fabrics I used, then started making the other 17 blocks. After I added one of the fabrics (to all 17 blocks) I decided it really didn't look good and decided to rip that log off all 17 blocks. That meant taking several rounds off the 1st block too, but in this case I thought it was worth the effort. Other times I just put the blocks aside or donate them to the guild's car quilt.

I love lemonade!

Here's what I made --Placemats. I used a decorative blanket stitch for the edges --they turned out quite well. The picture is of one hanging on my closet curtain, so it may look a little strange. One of my sisters loves the pinks and I suspect these will become a b-day present for her next fall.
