I love rose, green and soft yellow golds...I HATE Screaming Oranges, dark purples, and "neon" colors.

hardest to find, dark chocolate browns, bright blacks, soft yellows
|
love blenders, tone on tone, jinny beyers and fusions

You could survey any local or nearby quilt guilds in your area to see what they are looking for in a LQS. I'm sure they will all be thrilled to have a new shop to visit and spend time/money in.
|
If you have as little space leftover, maybe a little table or counter where "we" can set the bolts down and try to put our colors together. None of our LQS have a place to set anything down. If you put them on their counter, someone always comes along to be waited on and you have to move them

I mainly buy a lot of yellow, white on white, pink, blue & green. Can't stand batiks or tie dye. Sharon |
A very accomplished quilter once told me that if you are having a hard time putting colors together, and especially if you are looking for just one more for your palette, add green. She said, "After all, that's what Mother Nature does." Since then, a green always winds up in my quilt, and it's always just what it needs. So I vote for greens.
The hardest for me to find is a real variety of batiks. I want ALL the colors! How neat to be asked to "consult" for a new store! And how exciting for you to be opening one! |
I am always looking for cream on cream, white on white and neutrals. Blue, and deep reds are my favorite colors
|
Orange and Red...I always have a hard time finding anything in these two color schemes.
Good luck with your new endeavor! Hugs April |
purple and green, I don't care a great deal for orange. and what I don't see in the store is a lot of diffrent rulers, and cord. God bless. Penny
