Can you, my fellow quilters tell me your opinion of the best brand quilting tape and the best brand spray basting. I appreciate your help.

In my experience of all the ones I have tried, 505 is the best basting spray:

However, there is a newer one out that I haven't tried that is supposed to be even better. That would be Thermo O Web Spray n Bond:

quilting tape?? not sure what you mean. tiger tape with lines on it for hand quilting stitches??

I use 505 spray. I have tried other brands the I think 505 is the best. It holds the fabrics securely and doesn't gunk up your needle.

I have used the Sullivan's spray - it works very well and I don't have any residual glue on my needles. I use it for the embroidery to attach the stablizer too so I don't have to use more stablizer than I need. Have used the 505 spray and liked it very much but it was almost $10.00 a can more than the Sullivan's spray.

Not sure what you are asking about tape - are you talking about the painter's tape? Afraid I can't tell you a brand, it is just called "painter's tape" and you can get it at WallMart, Home Depot, try not to buy it where they are selling it at a craft department or it will be a lot more expensive. Kind of like the Elmer's glue, but it during the back to school rush and it is cheap, but it at a craft store or grocery store and you pay a LOT more. I have also used masking tape (the light brown/beige tape) because it belonged to my dad, after he passed away it was getting thrown away and I knew I could use it. It worked very well with no residue. (He used the tape to hold his water color paper in place.)

There is also an iron-on tape for batting, not sure if there is more than one brand I found it on-line at Annie's or Fabric.com. I have it but the label is not there so afraid I am not good for information there either. Sorry.

I don't think there's a lot of difference among batting tapes. You can make your own by cutting strips of fusible nylon tricot.

Am a big fan of the 505 spray for securing the fabric to the batting and it's also great for embroidery! Good luck.

I have used 101, june tailor, 505, and sullivans. I like sullivans the best seem to have the best hold to me without gunking anything up, but spray out doors as the smell is awful, but I don't like the smell of any basting spray and do all outdoors including 505. I hear metler is nice but I think its more expensive than 505

I like 505 spray and Mettler spray--both seem to work the same to me. Never used batting tape as I just whip stitch pieces together by hand to join them.
