I like the second layout the best. It shows off all the colors. A bright color such as yellow would be a great sashing color.
Or black and white. Try putting either color next to the quilt and look at it from distance. I'm sure the baby will love it as she/he grows. A great way to use scraps too! |
I think I like the second setting better, and no I do not think the colors are too bright, they are perfect for a new baby.

Here is a different layout that would be sweet for a baby. You could make it half the size of a twin, which would be a handy size, and later make a second one and sew them together to cover her "big girl bed".

I like them both! If you are concerned about them being too dark, which I don't think they are, you can sash them in white fabric.

I love the colors and like the second picture best.

baby quilt
I totally agree with you about the quilt being something she will use for a long time. Your colors are fine and I do like the second picture for a layout. My avatar is a baby quilt I made for my granddaughter. I hope it will be dragged around, played on etc.

I definitely like the second layout better.
I think the idea of using the colors you are is great - will move beyond "babyhood" with her! |
love both. But I think my favorite also is the second one. The baby will just love the colors

Definitely the 2nd one for me. Lovely bright colours.

Another vote for the second set. I scrolled upwards until only the second section was showing. Then I noticed the 2 bottom squares, how different they are. The square on the right is darker than the one on the left. I prefer the lighter one. Not necessarily the whole square, but the dark green strips I would replace with a yellow and perhaps a light green or blue print.
