Okay, I am still working on the sampler but think I need to step away from it for a few. I get stressed...lol. Anyway thought I would make a quilt for my cousin who is going to have a baby boy in June. I had this fabric just waiting for an occasion. I got it clearanced so that makes it even better. Anyway here is what I need. The first pic is the material. The next ones are different variations of how to put it together. This is where you all come in. Which of the pics do you think would look the best? I kind of like them all but just wanted some input. I have all the pieces cut just waiting to assemble.

The fabric I am using.

Hmm tough choice. They both look good. But I think I'd go with the first one. More symmetrical. Either way, it's going to be great for that new baby boy. :)

I think they are both lovely , so not much help am I , the material is lovely too

yep first block, sounds like you got a winner!

Izy 04-27-2008 03:08 PM

If you turned each centre block around one, it would form a pinwheel effect?? that might look good too!! :D

Love your fabric choices alot - cute or what!!! :D :D

tlrnhi 04-27-2008 09:07 PM

I agree, the 1st one

beachlady 04-28-2008 06:12 AM

I also like the first variation too. And Toni, I want to thank you!!!! I have a striped piece similiar to yours and did not know how to use it and now I do. Have some ripping out to do, but I think the end product will be worth it!!! Thanks again!!!!!!!!!

I love your backing fabric! Have you decided which way you're going to go with it?

cottagelover 04-28-2008 06:43 AM

I like the first one also, I think white on the border with a small print or dot would look nice for binding.

zyxquilts 04-28-2008 06:49 AM

I like what Izy said too - #1 or see how it looks with a pinwheel effect.
Very cute fabric! :D

Donna Mae 04-28-2008 07:13 AM

I vote #1 too. A pinwheel would be fun too! Those fabrics are just too cute! Great picks!

I was going to go with the first block too, then I thought of what Izy wrote and decided to give it a spin. I tried it and I agree I like it! Doing it that way makes a golden star. This is what I believe I will go with. Thanks for everyones input, always makes you look at the broader picture with others opinions that you may not have seen on your own. Thanks to you too, Izy.
And your welcome beachlady...lol. This forum is awesome isn't it?

I added a pic of how I am going to do it but it is really blurry, I think the camera is dying or the batteries, not sure which one yet. Hope you can get the idea though!

Donna Mae 04-28-2008 11:55 AM

Adorable. Good idea Izy.

Have a wonderful week.

I like picture 2 an 3 :D

vicki reno 04-29-2008 03:50 AM

I like the one with the solid blue--blue is my favorite color! But doing the pinwheels would look cute too!

Barbm 04-29-2008 05:20 AM

I have some of the same fabric! Same problem- you solved it! I have blocks already cut out, they were left over from a Project Linus quilt. I'm going to borrow your pinwheel block idea and do the same quilt! Thanks for having a problem- you solved mine along the way!!!!

Remember-post your finished results!

Barb

sandpat 04-29-2008 05:22 AM

I really like your final choice! Very cute fabrics!

beachlady 04-29-2008 05:39 AM

Again, thank you Barb and Izy - Love the pin wheel idea. Now just have to work on my first traingles. Going to do it!!!!
