I have had the GO for several months and like it very much. The handle was hard to turn the first couple of times but after that it was easy. I have shoulder problems and will be having shoulder replacement surgery in just a few months, so I turned it with my other hand. There is a very active and good group in Yahoo Groups where you can get lots of information.

I LOVE mine! Are ou looking to cut paper? I see you are a school administrater.....I wonder if there would be something cheaper to cut paper! I know Accuquilt makes AWESOME dies to cut paper for its machine, simular to the Studio.

I don't love mine (and am disappointed that I don't love it). I can't get it to cut the fabric without stretching. And I do have the length/widthwise grains positioned correctly, I do send it through at an angle, I do only send 1 layer of fabric through, etc, and my squares are always slightly rectangular. Which I can cut squares that are slightly rectangular on my own! I did appreciate it when I was teaching 88 students to cut and was able to quickly cut 176 triangles and 88 squares, since the kids didn't care/know that they weren't perfectly accurate. But I don't know if I would buy it again

Oh, yeah, and the waste drives me nuts!! I try to get as little as possible, and it takes sooooo much more fabric with the Go

it makes it so easy to cut strips and squares triangles and rectangles; just everything I could need.
It is accurate where me and the rotary cutter are not and now I have time to sew more.
All my scraps become something and I have learned to measure and cut exact fabric for each die so very little waste and labeled those measurements onto the dies.

I don't understand the waste more then 1/4" around the die at most. Some appliqué shapes will have more waste if you start with a square but usually I'll cut the left over appliqué die fabric to 2" squares or triangles. Cutting only one layer you will get a lot of distortion if you don't put a piece of paper with it. Cutting too slowly will give you some distortion too. There is a learning curve to getting the most out of the die cut machines and it took me awhile to get to know how throw some fabric on the die and crank out a perfect cut with little waste. If you draw a 1/4" line with a Sharpie around the die blades. That is how big your fabric piece should be for no waste.

My friend let me borrow hers and I loved using it. I really didn't want to give it back. I think if you quilt alot and use the size dies they have, it's worth it. I found the best deal to be from Nancy's Notions. They are a pretty good company to order from because they like all their customers to be satisfied and are easy to work with if you have a problem. Right now they have the Go with a set of dies for $299.

Hmmmm, I'll try cranking faster and see if that helps. Even if you get 1/4" waste, that adds up quickly. At my LQS, they do a class where they use their Studio to cut your fabric, you then come in and sew for a day. I gave them a single piece of fabric that I wanted in 2" squares (252 of them) and I had to give them an extra 1/4 yard from what I needed if I hand cut. I understand it's a tradeoff, but for me trying to get as little waste as possible, seeing even 1/4" with every single piece is frustrating

I am new to the Accuquilt. I really really like it. It has saved much time from cutting. I bought the dies that are most necessary. And, I noticed that I do not have fabric waste.
