I've stitched out 8 so far, there are 12 in the set. I want to make a wall hanging and not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to quilt it but should I just do squares? Should I applique them on fabric???? I'm at a loss.
Thanks Pat |
These are stunning!! They really pop on the black... is this just to show them? I like them as is, would like them with a super skinny light blue sashing. Please post your finished work in a new thread..... I rarely subscribe ....

I have no ideas for you, but they are beautiful; each one so different.
They are amazing and the black really makes them stand out. I would like to see them random placement.
IMHO
I would do quilt as you go leaving them all black |
Oooooh, pretty! I like them on the black background but it depend on what look you want. They would look pretty and springlike on a light background as well.
Beautiful. Remind me of my grandmother. BrendaK

I would set them on point with a narrow sashing. I'd pick a bright solid or blender fabric in a color that was in most of the stitchouts, and then select a different color for cornerstones.
I like the on point suggestion. I've never done that before. I'll see if I can find a tutorial or something.

Black always makes a quilt shout... stand up and take notice!! Lovely.... stunning. I agree with what others are saying.... use these as individual blocks. If you are making 12, and placing them on point with a thin sashing, they will really be eye catching. And, you could add some borders to make it as large as you'd like. You have so many options.... WOW! My imagination is reeling....... Good job!!

Love the black with these. Can't wait to see the finished project.

Beautiful! The black really makes them stand out....sorry, no real suggestions though. The ones you have here are better than I can come up with. :)

How about quilting circles around each and the curved 4side as lovely corner stones.
Fireworks on a night sky---these are beautiful well done--love to see the fabric used
OK, looking at the pins, are those really as small as I think they are? WOW! Now I am really impressed! what does the original material they are cut from look like? Great job.
I'm sorry if I sound stupid but are the machine embroidered, crocheted or what? The are strikingly pretty.
I had the same question--they appear to be embroidered to me. Very lovely...!!
Beautiful.

They are stunning on the black.
I can't give any suggestions but they are absolutely gorgeous !!

Wow beautiful blocks. They pop on black. Great job.
Those are beautiful! For a wall hanging I would love to see those randomly "sprinkled" over the background fabric with smaller ones in between - like stars in the sky!
Scatter them on a black or dark background. That is the only suggestions I have.
They are gorgeous. |
They are just fantastic. I can see them on the black background in squares sewn side by side. They are truly beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful. I would have to make it a quilt also. Love it.

they are machine embroidered kaleidascopes. I've had that patterns for a while and now I decided to make a wall hanging for my foyer. I've stitched out 10 of the 12 so far. I can't wait to sew them together to see what it looks like. I will post a picture. Thanks for the suggestions

I think black squares and a pretty sashing in between would really make it show up. It looks really pretty. Sue

Absolutely beautiful!
Very nice. Are they done embroidery?
Oh my those are just a pretty as can be. Perhaps the black is too large, I like the black but as Billi mentioned, random placement.
They are just beautiful!!! |
No suggestions - just wanted to say how gorgeous they are!

What size are your blocks? Did you get these from Embromix.com? I have a bunch of their embroidery patterns and am going to do the exact same thing. I plan on putting a very small sashing in between then. Then was hoping to find a fabric with all the colors in them. I know that's backwards, but this gives me an excuse to go to the quilt stores that will be new to me in NY state. I love the ones you've done.
I see them in a random placement or used in one of the modern quilt patterns with rectangles and circles where you would substitute the circles for your embroidered pattern will be fun to see what you do with them.
the black is cut to fit in the embroidery hoop I'll be cutting it down. I have 1 more to stitch out then I'm off to the fabric store to find something for the sashing. Thank you everyone

I don't get the point of setting these awesome and beautiful ROUND embroideries on point. They will look the same as in a regular horizontal setting, and the H setting is so much easier to put together. I also wouldn't use sashing, though you might try laying the blocks out over a blue fabric with just a bit of the blue showing to see how they would look with a sashing. They are fabulous just as they are.
