Opinions on Simplicity rotary cutting machine

Has anyone used this machine (available at Joann's) to cut fabric strips (like 2.5 inch strips) ? I was thinking of buying one, but want to know if it's worth the investment.

It's not sufficiently accurate for quilting. It would probably work for someone wanting to make rag rugs, fabric-covered cord bowls, etc.

This has been discussed before and the general feedback was that it didn't work as well as everyone who purchased it thought it would be for quilting.

I have both Rotary cutter as well as bias tape maker and after a couple of times tring to use I found that neither one is worth what my husband paid for several christmas ago.

The bias maker isn't that bad. I just don't use the post and hand feed from the roller. I control it. I do QAYG, and make a lot of strips. Sometimes I get tired of burning my fingers with steam using the manual bias makers. I have a Reliable and that thing does steam!

The rotary cutter works best with starched or BestPressed fabric ... not so well otherwise.
