"Quote What about an address book to with keep those addresses straight..Quote"..........this is a great idea, and be sure to add your address in there for your swap partner..... :-) |

Man, talk about a "slap your forehead" moment. I realized that the swap I'm sending out is a secret one - so the person getting my package doesn't know I am sending it. So I can share a picture of one of the things in the package...
These are from http://quiltville.com/pdf/TurkeyLacerStilettos.pdf and are very easy. The worst thing was making sure the beads I chose at the store would fit on the lacer. |

I love anything handmade! Love samples of teas or coffee. Love chocolate but here in TX, it'd be melted chocolate. ..... Needless to say, I love fabric! :D
and neesie i just love that pic of your furbaby (avatar). it is the perfect attentive pic. hopefully you have that one blown up and hung on a wall somewhere. |
what a great thread! I participate in the SP swap, so far that's the only one. I love getting notepaper to write notes for my SP, magnetic lists for groceries, books (used is great, nice to pass on after I've read them too), quilting notions of all flavors, quilting magazines, candy (I'm a sweet freak)...needles, measuring tapes (DH and Ray love to play with the last auto wind up one I got)
What I would love to get is a thread catcher, stiletto, quilting jewelery, pot holders. The most special things I treasure and use all the time are a wonderful complicated wallet with lots of places for credit cards and bills and a lovely sassy bag that I can just throw a few things in when I don't want to haul my big bag. I also love reading about my SP so I keep and treasure the notes they send. I love local things and try to remember to include some for my sp. I'm not a huge user of coasters, mug rugs, pin cushions, tho I've gotten some that were darling. And I am appreciative of those I've gotten in the past. |

Ive heard about these swaps. How do you get into a swap group? I am so new at this that I feel like a little kid wanting to know everything and asking too many questions! lol

i think it is too hot all around to send chocolate through the mail now. it is 100+ in my city now so i am sure the chocolate would start to melt on my way to mail a package. it would be such a waste to have chocolate soup.:) and who doesn't like fabric.

Thanks . . . and no, I don't have any huge pictures of Phoebe, displayed. My kids already think I'm crazy, for putting clothes on her, during the winter! :D |

Click the Home tab and then scroll down, until you see "Member Swaps and Round/Row Robins." There's a listing of the current swaps. If you've tuned-in too late, just watch for the next one, to come along. :-) |

You know what I would LOVE to get? A little drawstring baggie of chocolates (kisses or M&M's would do) that I could eat all by myself and not have to share - hahaha

buttons, ribbon and fabric my all time favorites
|
They look easy to make. Use a turkey pin ( used to hold turkey together when cooking) , put colored beads on and use a jewelry glue at the end of beads to keep beads on.
I like making chicken pin cushions, small flower pot pin cushions. I have bought pot holders or made them with a loop. Square pot holders are the best. Place 3-4 small sandwich bags in center with zip part to outside. Lay decorative tape over edges and stitch on both edges of decorative tape. Fold pot holder over and sew button on opposite side of folded pot holder. And you have a neat little organizer to carry sewing stuff, jewelry, etc. (

I made quick little pincushion on top of a jelly jar. It was fun and quick

I like to make sewing machine covers.

Thank you all for your great ideas and suggestions. It's funny sometimes how I forget to be creative. Guess I, too am concerned that what I send might not be used. As others have said, if they don't like it, they can 'gift' it forward. I'm fine with that. Now for a quick trip to Michaels . . .
Thank you, Lori for organizing these swaps. Jane |
Confess i haven't finished reading all the posts - so this may be a repeat - but how about grocery bags?? I've just made a bunch for my Aunt - who shops at many of the markets that don't supply bags - you have to bring your own.... 2 squares, 2 handles - which i stitched all the way around the outside of the bags for extra strength before sewing up the side seams. Really easy and good use of scraps.

I love to get shopping bags! Good idea!

I love this It has lots of ideas.I have read all pages through, and it is great. When I get my next SP I will come back to this page and see if my pal is here and see what she/he would like to have that she doesnt have yet. Sneaky I know. But at least SP will have what they want. And I can feel comfortable with their package with no worries.
