Can anyone point me to some good patterns or ideas for optical illusion type quilts. I think this is what I mean. I want something along the lines of tumbling blocks, that type of thing.

Are you talking about cube blocks?

Google "Optical Illusion quilts" and you get a ton of options.

Storm at Sea is a great optical illusion quilt, but there are certainly many, many others that you can find online. :wink:
