How do you sort and store a gazillion fat quarters. My system is
non existent.

I have a double dresser in my sewing room. I have cardboard trays with the fat quarters (& smaller pieces) separated by color & faned out on the cardboard trays. They stack well & I can quickly pick up a tray to select the color I need. This also keeps what I have from getting buried & I always can see what I have. It's like shopping in my own sewing room.

Sort them by color into clear plastic binds

I have a white free standing thingy that my kids had for their c-d's and 8 track music. A fat quarter fits when it is folded in half. It has eight sections and I keep the colours seperate. Really looks organized and pretty.

Mine are in drawers sort of like filed. They are folded and placed on an edge, so I can see all the colors at a glance. They are sorted by colors/ theme (circles/dots; red and white- actually they have their own draw).

They can also be stored in a cd file.

I fold mine with a five inch ruler, then take the strip and fold into five inch squares. From there, they are stored in the order of how I store my larger cuts, but in baskets.
