Oriental fabric

A friend of mine gave me a lot of beautiful oriental fabric(the silky kind not cotton) But I'm having a problem as to what to do with it quilt wise. Any suggestions for a pattern, I want to make a quilt with it. Thank you.

I'm thinking I'll use the silky oriental fabric I have for a crazy quilt.

I have never seen the silky type. I am not sure what I would do.

Visit Hoffman International's website.... They not only offer some beautiful oriental fabrics but also show many pictures of Oriental theme quilts. There is also a magazine called Asian Fabrics -- with a website... Lots of inspiration there too

Are the silky fabrics washable??? If they are, I. Think I would use some kind of interfacing (I use Pellon SF101) on the back of them. I don't care to sew silky fabrics because of the slippage but if you put some kind of interfacing on the back they wouldn't be as slick.

I have a friend who was also given a lot of this type of fabric, she made a string quilt using a muslin foundation. It came out really pretty . It was really bright colors and then she quilted it in a dragon pattern using black thread. Wished I had taken a picture.

Depending on the size of the prints maybe use some squares to showcase the lovely fabric.
