I didn't bother. The lamps are old and I've replaced them with Daylight lamps which I love! They are small and slim and fit easily in any place. They have a great light with several levels directed right at my work area. I'm just trashing my Ott lights and replacing them with these.

My late husband bought me an Ott light for Christmas a few years ago. It still works, although I don't use it much. What I figured out is that I don't need an Ott light. I just need a bright light.

Apparently, what the claim to fame for an Ott light is that they show your colors "truly". I'm sure that's the wrong word, but if you are matching colors and you need to see them exactly, then the Ott light is the light for you. What I need to a good, strong light as I'm not matching colors, I'm matching seams or trying to thread a needle. My quilts have enough contrast that I don't have to match colors.

Anyone found a good light for purposes I outlined (that's not ugly)?
