Great quilts sewmom and LuvTooQuilt!
|
If anyone is tired of their outdated fabrics I would looove them!!
|
OMGosh!! I missed the quilts that were posted earlier- they are ALL gorgeous! I love the strip/ string quilting look!! And all those tiny squares- they're beautiful!
|
I still LOVE peach and aqua/green combinations in whatever name you give them. For my eye they will never be dated. From deep tones to pale pastels, those colors just please my eye.

one man's "trash" is another ones treasure!! Who's to say what's outdated, it's all about personal choice
|
Got a chuckle out of this thread...I've been buying some vintage fabric! Have some my daughter used a long time ago in some 4-H projects, and it makes me smile!
|
I must be strange I love fabric I con't care when it was made the feel the color. No such thing as out dated fabric for me!

Thanks for all the responses and for the pictures of lovely quilts! Quilters on this board are the best. froggyintexas

As far as I can tell...the dated color combos keep showing up down the road. We are dealing with Avocado and whatever they called the gold back in the 60's-70's all over again with new names.
I have some fabric that dates to the early 1960's...and is a red "patchwork" paisley. Love this fabric and use it oh so sparingly (mostly in scrap quilts). Also have a tiny piece of this same fabric in a blue colorway. I'd love to have more of either color. Somehow I am drawn to the "outdated" colors and patterns and from reading the other's comments, I am not alone. Thanks for an interesting thread. Anita |

Mauve is not outdated, for goodness sake... it's just another color. It's pretty evident that we have become a nation of people controlled by the advertising and fashion industries. Who are THEY to tell US what's outdated and what's not? Don't drink the kool-ade, quilters. Go on what you like, not what the industry tells you is fashionable. Their profits depend on your buying what they tell you to think. We need to learn to discern when our thoughts (and our spending) are being controlled by interested parties.
If mauve is outdated, what about puce? <g> </g> |
