My son wants me to custom make him two oven mitts.
I bought some Insul-Bright insulated lining.
Should I double the the insulated lining or is one layer enough?
I have a yard of lining so I have plenty.

Thanks for your help.

I have barely worked with Insulbrite, so I'm not sure. I would use one layer of Insulbrite and one layer of batting. I recently used just one layer of Insulbrite in a hot pad and it seems stiff. Two layers wouldn't be very pliable for a oven mitt. I like my oven mitts to be usuable on both sides. I'm left handed, but my children who sometimes cook with me are right handed.

I use one layer of insul-brite and one of cotton batting. Have fun!

being halfway through making potholders myself I agree that 2 layers insulbrite would make it too stiff..
