We're going this week for other reasons, but plan to do some quilt shopping while in the area. Any advice on quilt shops to go to, bargains/special buys, good places to eat, etc.? I haven't been there in about 25 years, I know it has completely changed! :)

They used to have a ribbon store. I've always wanted to revisit.

Hancock's of Paducah is a good trip as is Eleanor Burn's shop. Been there but can't give directions. I wasn't too impressed with a shop near the museum (a must see) but it may not be there any more. I think Caryl Bryer Fallert has a shop there as well. Have a fun trip!

Caryl Fallert has a studio/shop near downtown, a couple of blocks from the convention center, its in a old brick house, there's at least 3 quilt shops that I'm aware of, Elinore Burns has a shop downtown ans the Quilt Museum is also downtown within walking distance of these shops. I haven't been there in about 2 years, so I assume most of these places are still there, I know Caryl's place is. What I don't know is if downtown is still flooded. You can email Caryl Fallert (from her website) to find out. I've been a few times, its a long drive from central KY, my home, but very worth it. Have fun.

You will have lots to do. There is a Hobby Lobby, Hancocks of Paducah, quilt in a day (Eleanors store), quilters alley, I'm not sure what else there is. When you get off at exit 4 one way will take you to hobby lobby and the other way will take you to Hancocks. Go further past Hancocks down by the water front and the museum is down there and other quilt shops.

BTW there is no shortage of restaurants, it just depends on what you like to eat.
