http://www.bryerpatch.com/ Here's the page with visitor info, tours, pictures, classes, etc. http://www.bryerpatch.com/wkshops/BryerpatchStudio.htm She has lots of absolutely delicious hand-dyed yardage in her shop! |
I'm sorry you were disappointed in your visit. I think a visit there is worth it just for te stained glass windows alone.

Sorry u were disappointed by your experience. I have been to Paducah & the museum several times, always a great experience. I think that quilters have so many different viewpoints and though each of us may like some better than others all are expressions of our experiences and souls.

I have never been lucky enough to be able to go to the Paducah museum but its on my bucket list. I did however get a chance to go to the one in Golden, CO . My brother took me to Kansas to see my granddaughter who I had never been able to meet. We also went to see a sister I hadn't seen since she was a young child, in Denver. On the way back we passed Golden and I asked him if we could stop. He was "Sure"! . The exhibit was one all quilts made by men. My brother was amazed at the detail and he learned something new.
I am sorry you were disappointed on your visit. I am hoping one day to get to the Smithsonian, to see their exhibits of quilts. |

Often you can go online to see what exhibit is on display and read some information about it and maybe see a picture or two. With other museums I normally check to see what they have going on before spending time and money. That said many do have small section that has a permanent display. I think I would also be dissapointed not to see some historical quilts. It might be good feed back to give the museum.

I've never been to Paducah so really appreciate the comments on this thread. I do hope to go someday and will definitely check their website so I'll know when they show the quilts I'm most interested in.

I am sorry that you were disappointed in the museum. I have been lucky enough to go there a couple of times and loved it both times. They change the quilts quite often. I like look at all different kinds of quilts. One time I was there the exhibit celebrated men quilters. It was great. Give it another try and be sure and check the website and go when there are quilts there that you may enjoy more.
