Talked my dh and ds into stopping in paducah on our way home from vacation. Love those guys! Anyway, what are the must dos for me and what are some things I can send them to do?

I've never been there but what a fantastic opportunity you have. You could google the area and see what's available that might interest them. They could drop you off at the fabric store and go do something else and the come back in a few hours to get you.

The museum is open year around and a must see stop and of course Hancocks fabric store which is near the main highway. The quilt museum is near the river and the dike which is another thing to see, murals are painted on it.
The main street is charming. There are historic homes to visit and a strategic Civil War battle fought there. Lots of things to see even without the quilt show going on. Paducah was the place where Lewis and Clark left on their expidition so there is a history lesson there too. Check with their Chamber of Commerce for other sites.

I haven't been in about 3 years but..... if you have time for lunch check out Jeremiahs (like Jeremiah was a bullfrog) Very cute and entertaining eatery. They have a xmas tree hanging from the ceiling just to mention one of many!!

Whalers's restaurant is by the museum, too. Very tasty. Hankcocks of Paducah will be on your left side after you get off the interstate and head to the museum. Even if you don't spend any money, its awesome to see that much quilt stuff in one place.

There is also a Quilt in a Day store downtown. It's neat to visit! But I second that Hancock's of Paducah is a must (not related to to Hancock's chain).
