I am going to be making an appliqued panda quilt for one of my grandchildren, I found this adorable black and white adorable panda fabric for the borders. The panda is of couse black and white with pieces of bamboo embroidered within each design.
I am wondering what color would look good for a background with the black and white, I thought about green but it doesn't hit me just right lol. What is your suggestions?

a picture would help, but i'm thinking a lighter green than the bamboo.

Lime green for the "pop"?

red - it goes with the asian theme.

yellow - it would look like the sun

blue - it would look like a sky background

any color that appeals to the grandchild would be perfect. Maybe a variegated fabric or a fabric with mixed colors? Black and white make a wonderful palette for any other color or colors you want. at least imho

You thought about green, so I thought I'd show you this one I made from a panel and added the pink & green for my DGD.

How about using a material that looks like greenery? You know like it is outside. I've seen this type of material at Walmarts
