I use LA Awesome on grease spots. 16 oz at the $ Store costs $1. It even takes out old grease or blood spots.

Always spot treat before washing the entire thing. I use a good spot remover like Shout!... Place some absorbant cotton fabric or cloth below the quilt and then soak it with Shout at close range. You are trying to 'push' the grease through as it dislodges from the fibers. The absorbant cloth behind helps pull the Shout and grease through. This always works for me. Good luck!

Try Dawn dish liquid. It's always worked on grease and oil stains for me. They use it to clean up wildlife after an oil spill. Good luck!

What a bummer! I, too have used Grandma's Spot remover with good results. Good luck.

My husband was on submarines in the machine room. Heavy duty grease came out with Lestoil.

I'm so glad you were able to get the stain out!! Whew!

How about Goo Gone?

My sister, who married a truck driver and is a qualified "expert" at removing grease, swears by Crest tooth paste. It MUST be the all white paste, but she just uses an old toothbrush and scrubs it into the fabric from both sides, let sit for 10 minutes, then wash as usual. I have seen her work miracles with Crest!

You could soak it really well in fabric softener. Then put a drop of Dawn Dish soap on the stains. Rub gently and rinse
really well. The fabric softener will relax the fibers so the stain will come out easier |

I don't know about the method 2 but my grandmother used method 1 to get coffee stains out of a quilt.
The coffee stains had been on the quilt for over a year. |
