Everyone has done a fantastic job with the kaleidoscope quilt. Maybe some day I will be brave enough to start one of my own. They are fascinating to me.

Thanks for the kind words. I thought my quilt was too dark, and I love yours because it is so light and airy. I attached a picture of the fabric - the repeat is just over 12".

I just used rulers with the 60 degree angle marked for this quilt, but I purchased a 60 degree triangle template for the next one. I think that will make it much easier. The hollow cubes were first published in Sara Nephew's Big Book of Building Block Quilts. I think everyone who purchased the first One Block Wonder was disappointed that it showed many quilts with the blocks, but didn't tell how to make them. I haven't purchased the new OBW book, but it's on my wish-list.

Geta---I cut mine in strips as well. The busier the better. Be more concerned about color than design. That would be great Rhonda - I'd need 4 or 5 yards depending on the size of the repeat. The size of the motifs should be over 3" so they get split by the cutting process and the repeat is best up around or just under 24" - you need at least 6 repeats and some fudge allowance. What is also good is if the back ground has some movement in it rather than just being flat plain. I went down there today just to see what I can find and they have scads of kaleidoscope worthy fabrics. What I think I will do is go back with my camera and let you see what is available so you can choose what appeals to you. We go a lot because I like to get hamburger there. It is $1.69 a pound when it is over $2 every where else. It is a bulk store so a lot of spices and flours and such come in bulk and we get a lot of those types of groceries. It is just fun to go.

The cost was from $2.99 to $5.99 I had one that was $7.99 but that is rare not the norm.
I am concerned that you get to choose because what I would use may not be what you would like. This way you can let me know what strikes you!
These are the ones I got today. There is a lot more I didn't bring home! My DH just sat in his wheelchair and watched me try to decide which ones I would take home! He is learning to be a patient hubby!! Well trained too where my fabric is concerned!! He knows how long it takes me!!
