I am doing one now and it makes it so very easy to do.

This is the first paper piecing I had done. It is a Judy Neimeyer pattern and she has a special way to do paper piecing. Her patterns supply all the paper you need, and they are awesome. You can see all her patterns and quilts at
www.quiltworx.com
We've had classes for her Pepper Dish pattern for brand new quilters, and they have done fine.
Don't be afraid to try whatever you like.
And if you get stuck, just ask us for help.

I've done a mariners compass with pp. It turned out great. Just pay attention as you go. It is actually much easier than it looks. I have since done some pp much more complicated.
You'll do fine.

Try the paper pieceing tutorial by amma on this board. I am working on my first pp project. I was browsing yesterday because I felt restless and bored and came across a post called "Last chance for Jinny's Garden free pattern". Really liked it. Read the tutorial and started to work. I got 4 blocks done yesterday. Jinny's Garden isn't as hard as a Mariners Compass but challenging enough for me.

You can buy Paper Piece-the quick-strip way by Peggy Martin,
or Leisure Arts "Teach yourself Foundation Piecing" by
Linda Causee.
You need to be a member of this site: Overall Quilt.com, but Amy teaches step by step on Paper Piecing and tons of other videos about quilting. She is one of the best teachers I have ever seen. Her PP video anyone can follow. I learned by watching her video. Betty Lee

I bought a pattern for 'Northern Sunflowers' 3 years ago that is paper pieced. Had never tried paper piecing, and was afraid to try until I took a 2 hour class at our LQS. Now, I'm hooked on paper piecing!
