yes and no as everyone has said it is more about crisp points and accuracy and for me stability with a block.

I only use pp if it's a block with tiny pieces and/or lots of points. I hate paper piecing but for some things, it's a must. I do use scraps or if I don't have the right color scraps, I'll pull from my fat quarter stash.
My biggest pet peeve with paper piecing is that sometimes you can't press to the darker side and the backside seam can be seen through the lighter side fabrics. |
I like it for the precision on points and have used small pieces only to discover I was being a little bit too stingy with the size and had to re-do. Best to use a little larger piece. But I do like to PP
