Parchment Paper???

I thought I knew all of the little tricks like freezer paper for felt, clear wrap for tracing, tissue paper for thin fabrics.
a balloon for pulling a needle and keep a fork handy in case you need a miniature bow, but don't know anything about parchment paper. Sounds like something I desperately need in my life

Wow-I have not heard of keeping a fork handy in case I need a miniature bow-please explain and let me know what I am missing out on this handy dandy idea. And-parchment paper is so nice to use when I am baking cookies but don't have any ideas for using it for crafty things. Maybe you will get some great ideas and I will anxiously be watching this thread.

I know about the fork bow but never thought to keep one hand in my studio. I always have to run out to the kitchen. Now I need to get one at a thrift or dollar store.

I haven't heard for a crafty use for parchment paper but will be very interested in any new ideas for it. Love it for baking!

you can use it like waxed paper, for tracing applique shapes

QuiltnNan 11-02-2018 06:40 AM

you can also use it for an applique pressing sheet

Parchment paper can also be used on your iron board, both under and over an appliqué, to protect everything from the adhesive.

I'm intrigued by the fork bow. Do I just search "fork bow" to find out how to create it?

Parchment paper is also great to line the bread tins when making zucchini bread.

I've used it for tracing patterns.

all of the above for parchment paper ... plus ...

* using it to make a pattern that you can keep reusing
* line casseroles to keep things from sticking to the dish/pan when cooking
* and even as a crock pot liner

Yes I love it for tracing a pattern. Much sturdier than tissue paper. And it is a must for baking Christmas cookies. I have started putting a piece under my prefab pizza. It protects the oven from any little cheese drips.
