Parts for Berninia Record 830

I need a upper thread guide for this machine. I think it is called a sliding guide, it is the one at the top that goes up and down. Do any of you know where to find this part? I tried Sewing Machine Parts Online, the part is no longer available.

All Brands in Baton Rouge has a super sewing machine repair person, or at least they did about a year ago. If you could talk to that person, they may be able to find it for you. (225) 923-1260

Have you called a Bernina dealer? They may have access to the parts or something that will work.

This website says they can supply most parts for a Bernina http://www.a1sewingmachine.com/berni...hine-parts.htm

I have found parts for mine on Ebay. I needed to replace the entire tension unit (that sits inside the lid).

Good luck.

Are you saying the 830 is already obsolete?

I don't think they are obsolete, this on line company didn't have what I needed. They had discontinued carrying the part. I will call some of the dealers in my area after the holiday, maybe someone can help. Thanks to everyone.

The Bernina 830 Record is from the 1970s or 80s. It is a wonderful old workhorse, and I know a number of people still using theirs. This wouldn't be one of the newer 830s. Bernina did no one any favor when they started reusing model numbers.

A Bernina dealer should be able to get the part you need.

I agree. It just makes things more confusing. You'd think they could have come up with a new numbering system just to make it easier to differentiate between the old 830's and the new ones. It's not like there are NO old 830's still being used. I know several people who have 830's and 930's from the 70's and use them daily.

I still use a 530 Record, 730 Record, 830 Record as well as an Artista 230 and an Aurora 440. Parts are getting very hard to find...

I have my old 830 set up and use it when I want to sew strips FAST.
