How great would it be to make a patchwork map of the US, to celebrate our diversity and regional styles? I think this would be a great school, home school, or club project. If you made a pattern, I'm sure board members would send a swatch to represent their state. Kids could write thank yous, etc. Has someone done this already? Always a teacher, Dotty

I would be willing to participate. I don't know how to get this started so if someone could get it started I'll do whatever

Do you know if the maps are to scale relative to the USA map? The more I think about this idea, the more I love it for my classroom. I'm going to bookmark the map site and start making patterns.

I would just go and buy one of the big USA plastic maps and cut out each of the states and then use it for a pattern and could put magnets on back of each state for a puzzel
and make the states with different fabrics
