Does anyone know where I could find an easy pattern for a patriatoic (sp) quilt? I want to make one for my brother's 60th birthday.

Use traditional red white and blue and it's automatically patriotic. Or..if you want a Civil War type quilt there are several resources. Google civil war quilts and hold on!
I just looked in my library and found a good book for you. PATRIOTIC LITTLE QUILTS, by, Alice Berg, Sylvia Johnson, and Mary Ellen Von Holt. It has some really simple paterns and they're all gorgeous. |
Here's a great FREE patriotic pattern http://www.fatquartershop.com/Free-Q...canPatriot.pdf

Here are some free patterns for patriotic quilts:
http://www.bomquilts.com/Free-Patrio...t-Patterns.php Click on "details" to get to the pattern you want. I think the flag pattern is really nice and looks easy but it is really, really small. Rag quilts are easy to make and this one is really cute: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index...515#msg2831515 You can do a search on the forum for "rag quilts" and also Google for instructions on how to do this. |
I have seen at quilt shows, ones of the flag with a variety of blues and reds with the white parts being actually off-white so that it looks old-fashioned. I have a picture of one, if you would like to see it.

Wow! that is really nice. I haven't done stars yet but may try one on scraps. I also found a pattern for Ohio stars that looked fairly easy. thank you.

Thank you but I couldn't find it last night. I'm going to try again Thursday.
