Does anyone know where I could find an easy pattern for a patriatoic (sp) quilt? I want to make one for my brother's 60th birthday.

Use traditional red white and blue and it's automatically patriotic. Or..if you want a Civil War type quilt there are several resources. Google civil war quilts and hold on!
I just looked in my library and found a good book for you. PATRIOTIC LITTLE QUILTS, by, Alice Berg, Sylvia Johnson, and Mary Ellen Von Holt. It has some really simple paterns and they're all gorgeous.

Here are some free patterns for patriotic quilts:

Click on "details" to get to the pattern you want. I think the flag pattern is really nice and looks easy but it is really, really small.

Rag quilts are easy to make and this one is really cute:

You can do a search on the forum for "rag quilts" and also Google for instructions on how to do this.

I have seen at quilt shows, ones of the flag with a variety of blues and reds with the white parts being actually off-white so that it looks old-fashioned. I have a picture of one, if you would like to see it.

I love this one. I'm going to be doing a sampler scrappy one.

Wow! that is really nice. I haven't done stars yet but may try one on scraps. I also found a pattern for Ohio stars that looked fairly easy. thank you.

Thank you but I couldn't find it last night. I'm going to try again Thursday.
