I have a queen size Irish Chain quilt top to be quilted as a wedding gift. Any suggestions on patterns for the quilting. I have a mid arm machine. The squares are finished at 2"

I can't help with the quilting but wanted to say WOW, 2 inch squares and queen sized!!! I just got to say again WOW :D :D :D

How about putting wedding bells in the centers? Or doves, or wedding rings. The rings would not be very big, I'd use the bells myself.
Or how about double hearts? Lots of things you can use for weddings.

That is what I was thinking, but didn't know what design to put in that space. Any ideas.. I was wondering about a celtic knot, but not sure I could do that evenly enough.

Some one else suggested a celtic knot, but I am afraid I won't be able to keep the lines straight enough on my machine. I don't have computerized capabilities.

you could use a stencil to mark the quilt and then you just have to follow the lines.

The stencil idea is a great one. I use my stencils with my pounce pad and it makes following the pattern so much easier.

Thanks, I can try that.

If you know anyone with an embroidery machine who would let you use it, or do it for you, there are quilting designs you can use in the open space. I did that for my niece's quilt, and then did long stitching in the diagonals of the colored blocks.
