I agree - 30 of us made Mondo bags with Sue Hausmann as our teacher at a Sit N Sew in Tucson a couple of weeks ago. Easy to make and gorgeous. I modified mine by putting a zipper in one of the lining seams for 2 reasons: 1=creates a 'hidden' pocket in the lining; 2=makes it easy to turn the bag after sewing the final seam around the top of the bag.

I know this is kind of an old post but I just found the tute online to do the bag to the quilt someone made on here, go to this site...........it is perfect.......hope it helps for sure......
