Does anyone have a good pattern for a college quilt? I want it to show the logos, mascots etc so smaill pieces are not a good choice I don't think. Any advice? If you have a pattern will you share it?

You could do a fairly large square D9P or D4P with the logos, mascots, etc. in the corner squares that don't get cut in half.
You could do an attic window with the mascot, logos, etc. featured in the windows. You could do one of the wonky (or straight or on point) framed squares that show off the center square. I'm sure others can come up with addtional choices. Those are just off the top of my head. |

And for the other team ... thinking about doing Ohio Star (like the green shamrocks) with Auburn fabrics and possibly embroidery in the center to spell out "War Eagle" and "Auburn". Don't know yet how it'll turn out ... hoping to get ideas from this thread!!! lol

Made this valentine quilt with machine embroidered centers and it was not difficult to put octagons together ... thinking of using this technique as part of the Auburn project.

What college?
The colors and school mascot and other important items about the school and it's history can be used to design a quilt. Look to see if there if already fabric for the school (cotton and fleece). You may need to search stores directly near the college. Check out the college bookstores and uniform stores in the area for design inspiration. Are you making this quilt for someone? Have you asked them for their input? Pam M |
I like it! Do you have a pattern for the octagons :?:
|
there is a tutorial posted on this site ... it's where I learned it ... even tells how to make the octagon pattern. Let me know if you don't find it.
