Pattern Help triangles
1 Attachment(s)
I am trying to make a crayon panel for a room divider. I realized I have never done triangles that didn't come from a purchased pattern. I was hoping someone could help me out so I don't waste a whole bunch of fabric. I have had a huge amount of technological frustration. The can I just beat my head against the wall kind of week and wanted to have some fun by sewing. Sooo really don't want to do this the hard way.:)
Finished panel will be 14 in wide. I was thinking of 7 crayons across so 2.5 in strips. What I am struggling with is what size to make the "points" I attached a picture of what I am wanting to do. Thanks so much!! |
Rather than triangles for the points maybe you could paper piece them similar to the crayon baby quilt I recently made? I am on my ipad and don't know how to link, but if you look under my name they might show up.

I agree, try paper piecing them. I am working on a wall hanging and wanted points similar to what you are wanting so I just made a square the size I needed, drew lines on it and paper pieced the block. Worked out very well.

I have never paper pieced but may give that a try. Thanks

The crayon points are a 'v-block', and they are easy to make. You tube has several tutorials.
